Selfies and Others, Announcing NEW THEME, Lynn Cohen

This is a portrait of a friend in Sketchbook Skool. We are getting ready to start a third semester there (in October) sign ups are now! I cannot recommend this Skool highly enough! I am having so much fun there, during classes and between semesters there is a very active Facebook community group where art is added daily. I learn as much from the other students as I do from the teachers! I have a link to the info about it on my blog this week if you are interested in learning more about it.
http://lynn-nonameblog.blogspot.com. Or just google http://sketchbookskool.com as well.

Tomorrow we start a new theme HERE to draw FLOWERS!!! I'm going to take leadership license here and extend that to flowers, trees, other plant life from around the world! It should make for a lot of really beautiful art! Draw from life, from your photos, from your imagination! Have fun with it. See you in the garden!

Selfies and Others, Elaine, by Sirkka Jalava

I played with my pastels and tried to do Elaine once more time. I hope there is some likness.

Selfies and Others, Anya II, by Sirkka Jalava

Anya with watercolors. Perhaps I continue with this, but I will show you as it is now. I hope Anya does like it. I must have a break and look at this some time before I do anything further with  it.

May I ask Elaine, if I can have these sketches of Anya on my blogsite and facebook site. I would be very pleased. I have forgotten, if  you have given your permission earlier in some context.

Selfies and Others, Anya, by Sirkka Jalava

I tried to draw with a pencil Elaines daughter Anya to night. She looks here older than she is, I feel. I am wondering if I should show it or not. But I can´t wait, I put on it. I am not happy with the mouth for example. And much other things, but perhaps I can do better later on.

Selfies, Self-portrait, by Margaret Coote

This one I did looking in the mirror, no photograph.

Tommy Kane, Selfies and Others, by Jutta Wenz

I finally took the challenge to draw the undrawable Tommy Kane. I'm quite proud of this - used the blending technique I just learnt from Koosje Koene.

Selfies and Others, A new try, by Sirkka Jalava

I had a feeling, that I must compensate Lynn for the former experiment painting, therefore I did a new which I hope I like better. First without glasses,

 then with the red glasses.
I don´t know about the likness, but I like this better than the former portrait (of this photo).

Selfies and Others - new friends - Sandee Setliff

I know I am new to the group so I hope no one minds my titling this as "new friends" since I haven't been in this group very long. This is still a work in progress as I am hoping for a few more portraits to add...but I couldn't wait to share. I hope you will be able to find yourself on here.

Selfies and Others, Selfie, Sirkka Jalava

Found this selfie I have made in the begin of august, I had forgotten it totally. It is drawn with dry pastels after a photo, that i have tried to find now but not succeeded to find.  I know, where it is in the computer,  but can not find it when I should put it on here.  I must find the way to do it.

Later:  Perhaps it was this photo I used, I am not sure. I can not get it bigger.

Selfies and Others, "Sandee and Margaret", Lynn Cohen

I really enjoyed drawing Sandee and Margaret yesterday. At first I was aiming to get three portraits on this page and then I found I drew Margaret larger than Sandee so  I decided to practice my lettering on the page instead.

I used my new fine point pen, and then Prismacolor colored pencils that are water soluble. I used some water brush on part of it, and left it dry in places too. I also used my Uni Ball Silver pen on the circles. They look shiny in person.

Thanks Sandee and Margaret for allowing me to draw you both!
