Blue-Ochre-White Mug, Cups and Mugs, by Elaine (jaguarish)

Believe it or not I have been looking at all the beautiful cups and mugs posted here almost every day -- sorry I have not commented on each one, but I don't seem to have enough time!  I do love everyone's work and it's been inspiring to see.

The below mug is one of my favourites and I have been eyeing it all month thinking about this challenge, mentally picturing how I would paint it.  I am currently in a strange mode of looking at everything and imagining it as paint on paper!  This mug actually has some beautiful spots where the dark blue (almost purple) glaze and yellow ochre glaze have interacted in much the same way as watercolour paint likes to, but unfortunately I wasn't able to duplicate the exact effect.

I played around with spattering the background then decided to make it dark instead, but preserved some of the splatters using masking fluid.  Now I think I should have just painted over the splatters as I did on the right hand side.  What do you think?

Cups and Mugs, Coffee Cups, Sirkka Jalava

These coffee cups and plates are made by a cheramic artist in her cheramic workshop.

Caps and Mugs, Creamer and sugar bowls, Sirkka Jalava

The time goes by without that I can make new sketches so much. I am not sure, if this sketch has been shown somewhere before, but I am sure not here..

Cups and Mugs, An old coffee cup, Sirkka Jalava

This coffee cup and creamer are  among the first we purchased in our own household. I think the little service included 4 or 6 cups and plates, a creamer and  a sugar bowl. Now only these are left and a breath plate. I think they are so beautiful so I keep them  in a "treasure"cupboard.

"Grandma Ella's China Creamer", Cups and Mugs, Lynn Cohen

Rebel Lynn at it again. This time I chose a different piece of china, kind of like a mug or cup, but
a creamer instead from my grandmother's set I acquired when she died many years ago now.
I love this china. So delicate in glass and design/pattern. Thank you grandma for choosing so well.

Cups and Mugs, "Creativity in a cup of Joe", by Sandee Setliff

I love painting paintbrushes in coffee mugs, also added hand stitched beads to the brushes and attached one of my actual paintbrushes too. ( I wish my own brushes and mug holder were this pretty in real life. )

Cups a mugs, My mug, Sirkka Jalava

I always use this mug when I`ll have tea or coffee at home. It is an old mug, several decades (can feel as centuries) i would say, but still "going strong".  I made it with dry pastel and charcoal,  I am in a period of pastel now.

Cups & Mugs, by Joan Tavolott

This is a mug that I got from my husband as one of my Christmas gifts many years ago. It has a painting by Monet (one of my favorites) on the front and another on the back. It suffered from daily use and now has a crack in it so I don't use it as often. I've sketched it many times.
