In the drawing group, Every Day in August, the prompt for today is "Frozen". I drew myself bundled up as I was on this day in 2001 in Minnesota. I am from California, so whenever we visited my husband's family in MN in winter I froze! This particular winter happened to be the coldest since 1800 and something ... I thought the drawing in all those CLOTHES was appropriate for out current theme!

Greetings!  It's been a while, but I'm thrilled to have something to post amongst this talented group of artists.  The current theme reminded me of the work I used to do during my college years back in the 80's, as a fashion illustrator for a small chain of department stores.

The background is a page I used to cleanup my brayer when I was working on some Gelli prints I couple of weeks ago.  I started of by sketching the figure with charcoal and then coloring her with pastels.  Next, I sketched the flowers and used oil pastels to color them.  Finally, I used a calligraphy marker and a pen to letter in the title.  It was fun illustrating this young fashionista!

Fashion Cow - You've heard of a Fashion Horse (Someone who only wears the latest fashions, in order to place herself at the top of the competition.) Our cow is  in the vogue with her cloven hoofed boots (she got them online) and the dress she purchased from the runway in Paris, Kentucky. It was modeled by Kate Moos.

There was an old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe - Catified - Actually she's an old Queen (female cats are called "queens' - males are "Toms") who lived in a Saddle Shoe with her zillions of kittens and adolescent cats. And, actually, she very well did know what to do there were all those youngsters to supervise - And she was an artist and painted ACEO cards and had other hobbies as well! And rarely did she want for something interesting to do!

Critter Slippers - Beyond Bunny Slippers - Our local critters, Cat, Mouse, Bird, Bunny and Pig are enjoying their new critter slippers and "putting themselves into the other fellow's shoes". The bluebird who has entered the picture seems a bit hysterical upon noticing the bluebird slippers. Do you think he believes real birds were sacrificed?????

Shoe Sale - More adventures of my critters. It's back to school time and the Katz family have sent Kev to buy some new school shoes (he insisted on going "by myself", not with his mum). Morty Mouse went along for company. Kev is having difficulties getting the right size and his choice of shoe style and color is not likely to please Mum. Morty is amused.

My clothes are on people! The guys in the center were wearing almost matching shirts, one was a tad more orange than the other; the kid had on bright blue shoes, his dad was rather drab in grey, as was the other guy on the right. I thought the middle fellow's green hat was not coordinated well with the rest of his outfit (too Christmasy). But on the other hand, the green went well with the Starbucks logo.

#1 posting. I always loved to ride my pony as a child. I did these boots for a short story I will submit to 52 Weeks Flash Fiction, hence the splatter on the boots. Notice the letter "G" on the straps.
