Ann, your windmill is great! The sky and shadings on the windmill make me feel, that it is a sunny day and surely there is some wind too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sirkka. I enjoyed painting the sky in this one. I've just got some new brushes and they are turning out to be very helpful.
DeleteSuch a lovely watercolor this photo makes! Love all your browns and blues! And that you've used the brush to draw the picture!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynn. With the body of the windmill, I did a base coat of yellow ochre. When that was dry I added burnt umber to the right side and clear water to blend that over the building.
DeleteAnn, I love the windmill and the foreground grasses. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan.
DeleteLovely, Ann! You've really captured the "air" in this painting.

Thanks Barb, I think it helps that I have actually seen this building.
DeleteYou have mastered the technique of watercolor brilliantly. Just enough. Not too much. Less is more. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Penny.
DeleteSo gorgeous, Ann. I tried to do a windmill one time and it was so terrible. I really admire this one.
