Buildings Around the World, "Beach Houses in Devon", Lynn Cohen
Thank you again, Ann Hyde, for supplying us with non-copyright photos to draw from in the side bar. I image you took this photo yourself, as it's beach houses in Devon near where you live! I'd forgotten how much I enjoy drawing houses, having been busy this past month perfecting my drawing of portraits in Sketchbook Skool. I like these little buildings, each one unique from the one before it. It looks like a fun place to visit. Maybe I will one day!

So pleased you chose to draw one of my reference photos Lynn. You've done a great job of it too. Yes, I did take this photo myself - taken whilst we were staying down in South Devon at our daughter's house. We have beach huts here too, I shall add one to the reference stock :-)
ReplyDeleteAnn I must say you are an excellent photographer as well as a watercolorist. I can't wait to see these beach huts!
DeleteLynn, you have drawn these beach houses so beautifully! I think I´ll do paint them too one day. Great, that Ann has given us her photos to draw of. It is a little different drawing after so many portraits. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sirkka. Yes, it was hard to change my eye from faces to buildings. But I liked doing it so will do more. I'm glad you like it and are inspired to use this reference photo too.
DeleteThese are fun little buildings at the beach. I like beach areas that have these little buildings. It must be nice to do some buildings after focusing on portraits lately.
ReplyDeleteJoan, it was fun. I liked the mix of colors here too.
DeleteSo colorful and cheerful!
