Animals, Baby Lamb by Joan Tavolott

This baby lamb was done from one of my photos take in Ireland last year...I can't believe it is already a year since that trip. I love their fuzzy little coats. I used water-soluble graphite and a "bark" inktense pencils for the shading on her coat.

  1. Oh that is so sweet.the lamb.Did you get to pat her or him? I am back and forth Joan to my art room so I get to comment for others and you who enter. . I think this is a great theme .Animals. Brings out so much love in all of us for animals. Very nice Joan.

Oh I bet you loved Ireland. I have a friend who lives there.

  2. Thanks, Ann!

Carol Ann - I didn't pet him. The babies were pretty far into the field most of the time. Luckily I have a good zoom lens on my camera. But the sheep were everywhere we went. Ireland was great...great food, people, scenery...but it rained much too much. That was the only thing I didn't like...and maybe driving on the wrong side of the road. lol

  3. Hi Joan. Love those baby sheep. They are darling. Great sketch.

  4. Very nice. So wooly! I love the green background. I'd love to go to Ireland!

  5. He begs to be cuddled! Such a sweet and perfectly drawn and painted picture, Joan!

  6. Joan, this is so sweet. And I love the materials you used!

  7. Lovely little lamb, you have captured the texture of his woolly coat so well. I would never have thought of using the Bark Inktense pencil for this, I think I shall have to be more adventurous.

  8. I'd print this for a greeting card!

  9. Thanks everyone! I just loved seeing all the sheep when we were in Ireland. One day we were surrounded by them. lol
