Dick Holdstock and Allan MacLeod. They sing English and Irish music. If you'd like to hear them too look them up on UTube.
I listened and drew while DH sang along. These three folks were sitting in front of me.
I used a Prismacolor pen, 03 I believe, on a small 5" X 7" , 80 lb. Co-Mo Sketch by Bee Paper pad.
Winsor & Newton Watercolors on second picture.
I really enjoyed drawing hair today.
Here they are, Allan on the left and Dick on the right, singing away in front of a quilt made by the home hostess's great grandmother in the late 1880's. The quilt was mostly in black and dark colors. This does not do it justice. Interestingly enough, my ex-husband and wife have a very similar quilt that has hung in their home for many years. I think it must have been a common dark "crazy quilt" in the day.
And now we are home!
Wow...what great details and what a way to enjoy some of your favorite music!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim, it was a great way to enjoy the day! I love drawing live best of all!
DeleteMarvelous drawings. Lynn! It looks, that you have been inspired. The hairdrawings are great. I like the artist sketch with quilt too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sirkka! Glad you like these!
DeleteWow, look at all that cross hatching. Nice job!! A nice way to remember this evening for a long time.
ReplyDeleteYes, cross hatching is fun while sitting there listening to music. At times I wondered if anyone was being disturbed by my pen on paper sounds...hope not.
DeleteLove your sketches of this - sounds like a really good time was had :-)
ReplyDeleteWe did have fun, Ann, thanks.
DeleteMusic and sketching are a great combination. I know I get into the groove especially if it is live. Both of these are really nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan. I might try putting on music at home to draw to.
DeleteI love all the hair you've drawn. It all looks so natural! And the quilt is really cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret, this was fun to do.
ReplyDeleteLove the hair textures and the splashes of color on the quilt. I think you did a great job on the quilt!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa, art quilts were my forte before I got into drawing!
