Self-Portrait - Bev Baird
I was searching for a recent photo - but they're all on the camera. This one from 1998 was available so I decided to try a watercolour. (Don't you just love those glasses?)
Will have to try a more recent portrait in a pen sketch.

Who we are, Bev Baird
- more than paper and pen, creating journal pages, responding to events of the day, using quotes in much of my art, defines me more than anything else in my art.
Today, as I thought about the events in Paris and the world, the quote my daughter posted on facebook earlier in the week came to me and I went to play in my art journal. I used ink sprays, paint, collage and the new quote based on the words "Live, laugh, love" - words that have special meaning for me.

All Kinds of Trees: Losing leaves by Bev Baird
As I began sketching the tree against the blue background I thought of falling leaves. I had just purchased a placemat made of leaves and I cut one leaf off and used it to stamp leaves around the tree.
My end goal though, was to use this as the backdrop for a quote by Abraham Lincoln.
