Cups a mugs, My mug, Sirkka Jalava

I always use this mug when I`ll have tea or coffee at home. It is an old mug, several decades (can feel as centuries) i would say, but still "going strong".  I made it with dry pastel and charcoal,  I am in a period of pastel now.

  1. Nothing like a hot cup of coffee in an old mug. Very pretty.

    1. Joan, thank you! The combination of pastel and charcoal is something I am working on now, with them I can draw and have colours.

  3. This one is so feminine and pretty, though as a mug, strong looking. I like your choice of pastels on the gray background!

    1. Lynn, it looks feminine, there is a text in the side Mother`s mug, and that says all, also roses and rosettes, although I must confess that I did not draw thwm. Thank you, Lynn!

    1. Thank you so much, Margaret! The softness perhaps comes from the pastels I used this time. I am in love with pastels for the moment!

  5. LOL. Funny how we change, isn't it? One day I love watercolor, the next day acrylic, or pen and ink. I have never tried pastels. Are they chalk or oils? You did a good job with them on the mug.

    1. Agree, Penny, its funny, but sometimes it is just to change when you are feeling that. I use now chalk or also named dry pastels. I don`t like oil pastels - yet. Thanks for your words about my mug!

  9. Thank you Sandee, the medium itself makes the painting soft I think.
