Cups and Mugs Theme, My "Cups & Bowls," by Penny StewArt

This was one I painted of Cups and Bowls, for a challenge on Daily Paintworks.
I gave it away on my blog. I haven't painted many dishes, but I am always up for a challenge. I tried to make it look like oils, but it is acrylic.

  1. I would not have guessed acrylics.. .. Very creative. I remember the festive colors of tableware when I was growing up. Blessings, Janet PPF

  4. I like how this turned out. Did you add anything to the acrylic color to make it look this way? Beautiful artwork!!!

  7. It was done for a challenge to use STROKES of paint, put it down and leave it alone. Trying for that look of confident dabs of pure color. I would love to paint with oils, but I am allergic even to the water base ones, so I am trying to achieve the look with acrylics. Thanks, everyone, for the encouragement.

  9. Awesome!!! I love the strokes of paint that highlight the ceramic look to the bowls and plates. It would make a wonderful painting to have hanging in a coffee shop or a kitchen.
