Wildlife, magpie mini-sketch, by Elaine (jaguarish)

While I was out and about today sketching, a magpie stopped by to check me out.  Just as I began to sketch him, he flew away to investigate other interesting things.  So this is half-reality and half-memory/imagination, otherwise all I'd have is one wing!

  1. He's wonderful! He does look like he is ready to take off, the ink spatters complete the feeling of spontaneity and flight.

  3. LOL I hate when creatures don't cooperate...but then neither do people sometimes when you try to sketch them. I like the simplicity of this...it captures it well!

  4. I get the feeling, that it is the magpie that has splashed ink spots on the paper.
