When I retired from teaching 10 years ago my husband and I took a trip to Italy for a month. One of the places we stayed was called Colle Lungo in Castellina in Chianti. It was an agriturismo or working vineyard that rents out apartments. The grounds were beautiful and we had an upstairs apartment that looked over the vineyards. I just loved the place and they had a room with bottles of their wine and olive oil that you could purchase. We had quite a few of them and I saved this cork as a memento.

Wow. Such a simple subject yet amazingly artistic and wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lilith!
ReplyDeleteSweet memory here too. I bet you visualize those vineyards every time you look at this cork. Nicely captured in pen and paint.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lynn. It would be nice to have the actual wine too. lol
ReplyDeleteI stayed in one of those Azienda Agricola too! They are wonderful. You have done a wonderful job of painting this cork!
