"Grandparents Day", Daily Life, Lynn Cohen
Yesterday was "Grandparents Day" and my twin grand children's school. They are nine now and in forth grade. We had a wonderful time, as we do each year since Kindergarten, going there and sitting in each of their classrooms, interacting with them, their teacher and classmates; enjoying a lovely luncheon; and afterwards returning them to their home, staying for play and later dinner. A full day.
Loved every minute of it. Here I drew my grand daughter drawing. She also made me a beaded bracelet.

oh Lynn really well done to her drawing book your Granddaughter. Glad you had a great time. I like the mouth sketching as she concentrates and her hair style and her artsy t-shirt. . I miss those times when I used to go see my G.Kids with hubby . Now they are all grown up like young men and woman. They spoil me .
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol Ann. The hair was fun to draw as it was going every which way. I recall commenting on it at the time. I'm glad your grand kids "spoil" you now!
DeleteI don't think there's any such thing as grandparents day in England, though it would be good as so many grandparents take on the child-care role these days. It sounds fun and you must meet the other GPs too. Our grandchildren range in age from 22 to 28, though years ago we had our share of nativity plays, school concerts, band performances and so on, always on hard wooden seats, so that we always took a cushion each with us.
ReplyDeleteForgot to say what a beautiful sketch it is, you have captured her concentration and the bright colours are lovely.
DeleteThanks Jez. It's a special thing this unique school they go to does. I think many of the grands help support the school with donations. It's a thank you day!
DeleteThat sounds such a great day Lynn. I don't think they do grandparent days here, they should. Love your painting of Yael.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann.
DeleteExcellent colors Lynn. Love that t-shirt and she looks so studious. Wonderful sketch, very well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gloria, yes the T shirt was even brighter green and the rainbow of tie dyed front was also brighter than I painted it. I need brighter paints! ;-) She does take her drawing quite seriously!
DeleteSounds like a wonderful day for you all. Love to see the drawing tradition continuing down the generations.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was, and me too, JacquiP.
DeleteSounds like a fun day for sure and what a lovely memento of the day this sketch.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun and thanks it is a good memory keeper!
DeleteLynn, she looks like a delightful young woman. Love all the colours of her shirt too. You did a great job on the couch and stuff on it!
ReplyDeleteThanks jag. I liked drawing the stuff thrown loosely over the couch too.
DeleteIt sounds like you all had a great day!!! I think is is a great tradition for them to have. The sketch is great...love that she is sketching too.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Joan, me too!
