Kitchen, Lunch by Melisa McCurley

Yesterday, I was here alone and was painting so I didn't take time to stop and cook for lunch (I cook a lot because I have to but hate it) so I fixed myself what I call a picnic food. Since I can't eat sandwiches for picnics, I take things like this. This is a bell pepper stuffed with homemade pimiento cheese, a handful of raw fresh sugar snap peas, and a few cherry tomatoes. I snapped a quick pic with my tablet, snarfed it down, and went back to my oil painting. Sketched it later. :) Oh, and I treated myself by serving it on one of my favorite lunch plates, which I don't use much because DH and DS are both prone to breaking them.

  1. That really looks delish. I would love to have that for lunch. You got me thinking. I have a green bell pepper or half of one and that would be enough. Oooh I'm headed to the kitchen now. :D Great drawing! Love it!

    1. I forgot, your plate is awesome. I have plates I don't use because I'm afraid of breakage but what the heck, sometimes we just have to use them. Nice drawing of your plate.

  3. This really is a pretty drawing/painting, but its watercolor no? Not oil???? confused me with that. Perhaps you did this, then went back to a different painting in oils. Lovely plate. Nummy lunch. Hold the cheese if I come over for lunch please. Thanks. ;-)

    1. Yes, this is watercolor, but I was painting in oils when I stopped for lunch and wanted to get back to that quickly before the paint dried in my brushes. :)
