"Kitchen" Home for Lunch Lynn Cohen
I came home for lunch today and DH was standing at the stove cooking himself some eggs. I grabbed a pen (Primacolor 03) and very quickly sketched him in the act of cooking! Since I went vegan last April we now prepare our own meals. He has been efficient at the stove for many years! In fact he did most all of our cooking for all those years! But since he would rather not eat "lawn", as he calls it, he continues to cook for himself.
Now I must hurry back to the office.

Very nice painting of your DH! I like that you were inspired and took action all so quickly. My boyfriend and I do something similar since I'm a vegetarian and he's not.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa. Nice that it works at your place as well! ;-)
DeleteGreat illustration, Lynn. I'm really enjoying this new site. Slowly making my way around to view all the contributors.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cat. enjoy your viewings!
DeleteHi Lynn. I think it's great that your husband has contributed to cooking for himself. Love it. Wish my hubber's would do that. I'm slowly getting away from "meals" that carry 3 items and am doing good so far. Bobby Flay the chef says that if it looks like it's too much, then it is and he also says that moderation is the key. We can eat what we want but in moderation and I've been following those rules and also getting away from meat. Love you sketch of your husband, he looks busy.:) Take care.
ReplyDeleteYes, he can be busy in the kitchen! A good thing. Last night I was eating "left overs" in a bowl I'd warmed up of Farro and Veggies.
DeleteI thought it looked like a lot when I started eating, and sure enough about half way through I was satisfied. I felt so good putting it down and not finishing it. Today I added the left over chili to it and had that for lunch. Since I've been eating my new way and have lost wt. (24 lb.) I just don't seem to require as much food as I once thought I NEEDED. A good thing. Listening to my body really helps. [I know this isn't about art. I hope no one minds.]
Good Job on this. Fun to see a man at work. :))
ReplyDelete;-) Thanks, Cris.
DeleteGreat sketch of your husband cooking his own lunch! It is good that he is self sufficient. When my husband cooks he very rarely makes anything easy or quick. lol I think he thinks the more time it takes to prepare something the better it tastes.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like my sketch Joan. I am grateful he cooks. Now I wish he'd just do as I do and clean up as he goes, but that is my habit not his. I guess after 36 years together I am used to it so I won't complain. But one can "wish". LOL
ReplyDeleteI love this! I love your portraits. So much!
