Kitchen "cupboards" Lynn Cohen
I opened my kitchen cupboards (some of them) today, which is risky business. As you can see they are not the neatest cupboards in the world. But they are MY cupboards. I'll point out a few things ...
Top shelf hold things I use rarely, like the Halloween pumpkin decoration, and the Chanukah candles, an old oil lamp, and leaf bags, an old ceramic pot I don't use, but it too nice to get rid of.
Next shelf down is lots of notebooks, important papers, one old Joy of Cooking cookbook, a Thanksgiving turkey decoration and Shabbat candles.
Followed by a row of Vegan cookbooks!!! Mostly new, as I've only been eating vegan not quite one year this and next month! A bag of Steel Oats, Wild Rice, lentils ....
Next shelf is canned goods: coconut milk, soups, beans, onions, rice, artichoke hearts, a candle in a candle holder, dried seaweed I bought but haven't opened or eaten. It seemed a good idea at the time.
Second to bottom shelf holds a slicer, my Spiralizer, the dehydrator my kids gave me for Mother's Day last year and I used a lot last summer, a big can of coconut oil.
And the bottom shelf is a hodgepodge of table linens, paper plates and paper napkins. A mess really.
See how Lynn lives! ;-)

I love this. I like that you have your vegan books there as we'll. The layout of your drawing is excellent.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gloria...
DeleteThanks Gloria. I need to take time to peruse all those vegan cookbooks. I have become complacent with a few recipes I love; and sautéing veggies!
ReplyDeleteThis made such a colorful sketch. Your cabinets are still neater than mine. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Melisa! This prompt is making me want to clean house! Yikes!
DeleteIt nay be a mess but it makes a great sketch.
ReplyDeleteGlad you think so Joan. I enjoyed doing it.
DeleteYou are such a wiz at drawing these things! You give life to everything. Thanks for this fun sketch, and descriptions!
ReplyDeleteThank YOU Margaret! Nice to hear!
DeleteIt's fun to see it go from black and white to color! I love looking in other people's cupboards!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy that too Lisa! Maybe I'll make a "coloring book" of my black and white pieces saved. Snoop all you like!
DeleteGreat drawing. I think I like the black and white version.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lynn for letting us look in your kitchen cupboards! You have sketched everything so well. Much to draw. Nice work! And as usually I like your colors!
ReplyDeleteI love your sketch with and without colour! I'm heading towards being vegan again and have heaps of vegan cookbooks on my shelves too. Like you, I found that I tended to repeat the 'tried and loved' vegan food dishes without truly exploring further possibilities. I love browsing vegan cooking blogs too. :)
