Kitchen by Lisa Richards

I got a sudden hankering to actually draw and paint in one of my little Moleskines after seeing others doing the same. I bought a 3 pack of the cheapest Moleskines a while back, but I've only used one of them for writing art notes in. It's about time I used them for their original purpose! So here is a sketch of a little teapot and some salt and pepper shakers.

I enjoyed this little experience very much though the pen sketching works better on this paper than watercolors. I realize that Moleskine does make sketchbooks with watercolor paper, but I went for the cheapest ones I could find. Still it was fun to do this and I may do more line drawings in them.

By the way, this little teapot has been broken and glued back together, so it's just for decoration. It would be fun to have one to actually make tea in!

  1. Cute teapot and s&p shakers! Moleskine notebooks do take ink nicely, don't they. I like the watercolor ones too.

  3. Nice clean lines, very cute subject matter. I've never owned a moleskin! I've always wondered what all the hupla is about!??

    1. I'm not really sure what all the hupla is about myself! They sort of remind me of newsprint. Maybe they were the first
      small, portable sketchbooks? I don't know! ;)

  7. My mother had a collection of salt and pepper shakers. I think I should start collecting them so I have something to sketch! Yours are so cute! I am from Minnesota, now live in sunny Southern California, so I hope you are surviving the snow up there.
