Today and Tomorrow are the last 2 days for our "Kitchen" theme.
And lest you think I am deprived eating vegan I want you to know that according to Dr. Andrew Weil and others in his field, that dark chocolate that is at least 75% cacao and low in sugar is deemed "heart healthy"
if taken in moderate amounts!
So I buy a large cacao bar like this one (86% or higher as I love bitter chocolate)
and keep it in the refrigerator and break off a small square every few days or so.
I MUST remember NOT to eat it too close to bedtime, however, or it will keep me awake!
This particular treat was made right here in San Francisco, CA.
It is my decadent dessert treat!

I haven't managed to sit down with pencil and paper this week. We had snow to shovel. Another storm...
ReplyDeleteYummy sketch!
One word: YUM :)
ReplyDeleteYum!!! I'm glad you are allowed a few sweet treats!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, Ghirardelli Square. I love these chocolates too and have them in my kitchen cabinet. I've read that as well. Good for the heart. I always say, everything in moderation. I got that from Bobby Flay. That is his belief. That you can eat anything you want as long as it's in moderation, therefore, I do. tee hee. Have a great day and wonderful drawing Lynn. Pass the choco please. By the way, my family pet member's name is Chocolatte. She is doing better with her meds. Take care.:)
ReplyDeleteI think you should add a bit of either almond milk or cococnut milk with that chocolate and melt it in the microwave with a touch of vanilla, or a vanilla bean.... then dip fruit in it....a wonderful dessert and treat for you and your grands!! Great sketch!

Love the sketch and you are SO disciplined! I'm trying to eat more healthy fruits, veggies, fish and chicken, but my treat tends to be miniature Snickers, which are NOT heart healthy. But at least I'm doing a lot more things right than I used to, diet-wise. ;)
