Thanks Lynn for the invitation. This is my first post but I am enjoying viewing the work of all the creative talent here.
This has been a harsh but beautiful looking winter for many people around the country. I have had a great time sketching winter scenes the last couple months. This is the view looking out my front window. On this blustery day we were in the midst of another snowstorm. My driveway and neighboring farms all seem to connect by one large blanket of snow.
Sketched from life 9x12 in a Strathmore sketchbook. I used a 9B graphite and some white gouache.

ReplyDeleteThanks Joan. I live in Michigan. the weatherman says more snow is on the way. I have really enjoyed painting and sketching winter scenes this season. There has been and endless amount of inspiration and resource material to draw from.
DeleteThat poor vehicle looks so cold and desolate, but the sketch is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melissa.
DeleteI love this painting with snow and the car! It is beautiful, but reminds me on how it can be in winter time.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sirkka.
DeleteI like how much depth your shading has captured it would have been so easy to lose the vehicle to the background
