I recently sketched from the upper deck of a restaurant in the central pedestrian mall in Brisbane. I love being up at tree height and watching the activity below. It was also a good opportunity for another try at sketching this historic cinema, which has been turned into a visitor centre with only the ornate lobby and sign remaining.
and here is what it looked like in real life (I leaned out a bit to take the photo):

Peaceful Places, Nature Scenes, Penny Stewart
Nature is Peaceful
I usually find the most peaceful places in nature, mountains, the ocean, trees and lakes. Here are a few of my ACEO paintings, 2.5 x 3.5 inches, depicting some peaceful scenes.

Peaceful Places, Ann Hyde
On one of our recent trips away, I painted this scene by a river in Wales.
Such a peaceful time there, I felt it fitted well for this current Theme.
