Wildlife, on the water, Cathy Gondek

I did this after watching the video for this week's Beginnings Sketchbook Skool.  After doing the sky and the water, it just needed something so I added the bird using my sketchbook from Florida as a reference.

Quickly drawn in my sketchbook, which doesn't play nice with watercolor. 

 But I was drawn to the bird on the top.

Buildings around the world … The Barn at Queens Farm Cathy Gondek

I actually sat at Queens Farm in New York sketching this barn, as we went out there to help plan my daughter's wedding. 

 Then I gave her the watercolor as a wedding gift.   

The barn is at a working farm right in New York city, and her wedding photos have llamas and roosters.

I was happy with the barn but had no idea how to handle the greenery and rocks at the bottom.
