School Days ~ Genie Robinson ~ Flowers

Ever since I started working with my watercolors back in 1995, when I did my series on the Oklahoma City Bombings as a way to deal with my grief, I have always done this primitive type of work. Sometimes I think it looks a bit Mennonite or Amish, but there are no hats, bonnets, lace coverings and no faces. Yesterday I started on this little drawing in my art journal after reading the prompt of “Flowers” for Paper, Paint, Pencils, and Pens. My flowers are not fancy, but they are "all me", and they make me happy drawing them. The story in in my head was when the children got to school, they learned their teacher was ill so they were getting a day off. Instead of walking home, they played out front in the flower garden, climbed the tree, and had fun on the equipment. Take a gander and see if you can find the following:

~Children sitting on the bench
~Children climbing the tree
~Boy and girl playing ball
~Children on the see-saw
~Children swinging
~School Bell
~Tree swing
~Kitty cat
~Apples
~Wagon
~Birds

    1. Thank you, Donna. I am a true newbie, so I am open to all criticisms and help. I have always been afraid to share my art pieces so this is a big step for me. Thank you for leaving me your comment.

    2. Your art is delightful and charming! A suggestion would be to have your font be in white for easier reading! Thanks! Lynn

    3. Lynn...I read your suggestion and I went in and changed it to yellow. I did not think I could do that because my main blog uses the blue. Now, I know I can and will stick with the yellow. Thanks so much for calling it to my attention. Genie
