In the style of Frida Kahlo, by Elaine (jaguarish)

I admire Frida Kahlo and thought it would be fun to do something in her style.  Initially, I flippantly thought I might draw myself with a monobrow, but after looking over her collected works I decided to do something along the lines of The Wounded Deer (1946).  You can see it on this page, along with other works: http://www.rookiemag.com/2012/12/literally-the-best-thing-ever-frida-kahlo/

I was also thinking about her self portraits with animals on her shoulders... those are my kids on my back, and that's me with the body of a jaguar.  This is more like a layout than a properly finished work, but as I'm running out of time I thought I'd better post it!

Note: image I originally put here was blurry and has now been updated.

  1. Glad you did post this Elaine, and I would say this is complete. You may have been tempted to overwork it, love this. I can see the influence of Frida.
