Last Saturday, I spent the early afternoon watching people fly kites out at the 18th Annual Kite Festival in Flat Rock, NC I did discover that doing watercolor sketches of people running around "on the fly" was just too hard for me, so I water colored the background and took some photos to draw from of the kite flyers. It's a mixture of Peerless Watercolors, Inktense Blocks, and Micron Pen.
"Red Kite"
Love this painting Sandee, I can feel the fun of flying the kite.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice way to enjoy a day!
ReplyDeleteAnd lovely painting, too. :)
I would think that kite flying is difficult to capture on paper in person. You had a great idea and it made a super painting.
ReplyDeleteThis is so delightfully full of color and fun. I feel as though I am running across the grass with him.
