Spring, Lamb, Ann Hyde

Hope you are checking out our link in the sidebar to Paint My Photo, it is so helpful for inspiration and, as the pictures there are Copyright free, it makes a great source for us to use, so go ahead and check it out.
That said, I have used it for some of my paintings and sketches and here's another Spring subject for our current Theme -

Spring Lamb from Paint My Photo by Clare Smith

aww, a cute little Lamb...just couldn't resist painting him.  I went for a negative painting with this ....the reference photo was a white lamb ...either I could have painted light against dark background or dark against a light background, as you see I did the latter. I used my homemade khadi paper sketchbook and instead of doing a pencil outline first, I went straight in with a loaded paintbrush using a Kolinsky Sable brush as it holds a lot of paint, which made this much easier.

  1. You lamb is adorable Ann, and I like your renditon with dark on light. It's fun to take a photo and do your own thing with it as reference. Thanks for pointing out the link.
