Flowers, Dahlia Garden by Joan Tavolott

My plein air group painted at the Dahlia Garden at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum in Oakdale today.
The flowers are amazing. Some of them are as big as my head. lol
This is an 8 x 10 painting.

    Beautiful, they look like trees in a misty forrest (hope i have expressed it right). Big flowers, your painting is great, Joan.

    Thanks Ann and Sirkka! In reality the background was dark green trees but I thought that might overdo the green, so I did sky behind it instead.

    Thanks Carol Ann and Maggie. Maggie, some of these were so big I couldn't understand how the stems could support them...and I am petite. lol
