For a long, long time ago we were living in a house with swimming pool outside and sauna. We had tourist cottages in the neighborhood which we had contact with. Once we decided to have a barbecue party for our friends from the village and for these tourists, they were from Germany

beautiful piece with wonderful memories.
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine! I am glad you liked this. And to draw the memories is a good way to save them too.
DeleteOh this is a wow of memories.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you like this memory Carol Ann!
DeleteHow great that you had a photo to remember this time. Nice sketch of the musicians!!
ReplyDeleteJoan, thank you! Without the photo this memory would have been forgotten.
DeleteThis is wonderful Sirkka, the way the accordion player is the focus and the other figures are both facing him. You've shown that special communication that musicians have when they play together. What a great memory. What did you use to draw it?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret, you know that as an activ musician, they must communicate. Thanks for this observation! I drew this with dry pastels and a little charcoal. The size is A3, Fabriano Accademia artist paper. Dry pastels are Conté Crayons.
DeleteA wonderful trio sketch Sirkka, and you have drawn the accordion and the player's hands so beautifully, I found them very difficult in my sketches. As Margaret says, the concentration and communication of the players is perfectly shown. I enjoyed your sketch so much.
ReplyDeleteJez, I am glad you enjoyed this sketch. Thank you!
DeleteI am struck first by the sadness of the loss of these loved ones especially your husband. So sorry for your losses, Sirkka.
ReplyDeleteThe drawing I'd beautifully executed as others have pointed out. I like the residue of the chalky pastels and charcoal. The colors are wonderful.
Lynn, I am moved of your mindful words, but be not sad. I am sad sometimes and think how it could be if...I am sad for the lost time together we missed, it would have been so great to get old together when we lived together more than 40 years. Now I have been left alone to get old (I have the children, but it is not the same, they are too young). So take care of each others all, who still live in a relationship!! Thank you for your comment, Lynn.
