Zoë had recorded herself practising on a cassette tape. Top marks for ingenuity, but Dev said 'No more lessons'. She did stick with the Clarinet, and still plays it, and is a member of an amateur Wind Orchestra.
And Dev mastered the Clarinet, and then went on to buy an organ, followed by an electronic organ. At least he'd had piano lessons as a child ……… until his mum stopped the lessons because he wouldn't practise!
By the way, I identified the cassette tape recorder on the sketch
because Dev wanted to know why music
seemed to be coming out of a toaster.
Dev is too funny! This is a delightful guy. I sure would like to meet him! This is such a typical teenager prank! Good for both of them getting on with it! Sounds like you live in a musical house as I do! Lucky us! Love the drawing too, even the "toaster!"
ReplyDeleteJez, Dev is a funny man! Love the story and I'm glad they both stuck with it. I think there are people who are just natural to music and can pretty much pick up any instrument and play it. My brother-in-law and nephew are like that...not me! Nice sketch.
