I started the new theme a little early on Wednesday and yesterday with these perfect examples of our daily life.
Wednesday in the clinic waiting room, in a row of seats in the corner of a large waiting room for several clinics. I twisted round to see if there was a person to draw and this was the only lady. But of course rule 2 of drawing like this is that the person is called away as soon as you start to draw.
Tired of twisting my neck around I looked in front of me:
Faced with a long wall five feet away from me, I looked straight ahead and drew the painting on the wall. I took notes of the colours and added these at home with watercolour, as I did with the others.
It looks as if there are no staff on duty today, and waiting time nil - ha ha.
Thursday, the third of my clinic visits this week. Who said I don't get out enough?
Right in front of me today facing the same wall was the reception desk with nobody in attendance. I know enough to just wait until somebody comes. What was strange about this sketch was that when it was finished I realised that I had not included the sliding glass panels that covered half the open space.

Glad you were able to make good use of your time at the clinics. Sketching is much more fun than leafing through the old magazines they have there. Nice sketches!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Joan. Great sketches.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan and Gloria. I agree it's a good way to pass the time, but I tend to get tired after a few sketches.
ReplyDeleteEnjoying your 'daily life' sketches! Uniquely beautiful and so interesting. TFS. Hugs, Gayle.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you have had to spend so darn much time in medical clinics lately Jez; but nice to see you putting the time to good use drawing. I especially like the flowers and the blue jacket hanging up in the last picture. All are fun to see and done well.
ReplyDeleteYour Daily Life drawings are great Jez. I take my sketchbook out with me and it certainly helps 1. take my mind of a hospital appointment and 2. passes the time. :-)
ReplyDeleteWith all the waiting at clinics you have to do, it's good that you can sketch or you'd be bored out of your skull. I really like the one of the woman. Even though she left, you caught just enough of her.
ReplyDeleteI spend so much time at doctor visits and I always bring my drawing tote along. I never thought of drawing what I see around me. I'm going to try this next week, thank you. I am sorry you have to go to so many clinic appointments. I know it can be hard at times. Hugs, Rasz
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comments everyone, they are always interesting to read and think about.
