Daily Life, Beach Time by Joan Tavolott

When people used to ask me how I could go to the beach just about every day in the spring and summer I always said someone has to check that it is still there. lol I don't get there quite as often lately, but I was there for a while the past few days since it was so nice. Today I went out painting at the Arboretum with my group first and then went down by the bay and sketched and then read for a while. There are a few other people around enjoying the day too.

  1. I say if you live near the beach, OF COURSE you should visit all the time! :) I love this sketch of people enjoying the beach. Lovely composition, too, Joan!

  4. Joan, your sketch tells me how enjoyable it is to be on the beach near the water and take it easy. Wonderful scene. Your people are so relaxing and natural in the picture. We have not so warm water neither weather, that we could spend time on the beach. Yes, a time ago it was a short warmth wawe I must tell.

  5. Lovely scene of the beach Joan. My husbands excuse for going down to the beach is that someone has to hold the sand down, lol.

  8. Absolutely, what is the point of being near the beach if you don't go there. I love the beach all year. Wish I was there now. Great sketch.

  9. Thanks everyone!!! I am a real beach person, but since I started painting and sketching so much I don't get there every day any more. Luckily I can usually find something to sketch when I am there. This was a small local beach near a marina. The sign on the lifeguard chair which was up and ready for Memorial Day Weekend said there was a limit of 400 people. I laughed because I don't think it is big enough for 400 people even if they are standing up. lol
