I did this watercolor sketch of the duck from a photo I had taken at a local park. I hadn't seen a duck like this before...the area around his eye was so interesting. I used my water-soluble pencil and my Inktense Pencils for this.

Great looking duck Joan. I agree the eye area is interesting.
ReplyDeleteOh this is really nice Joan.
ReplyDeleteQuack, Quack, Quack, Love it, Love it, Love it. He looks like he hopped right off a children's petting farm floor!
ReplyDeleteGreat drawing Joan. This looks like a muscovy.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was growing up, we had some of these ducks on the farm. I always thought they were hideous. They were cranky, almost as bad as the geese. You did a great job sketching him.
ReplyDeleteI like the loose effect of your painting. It's funny how some detail, like the area around the eye, can make one want to draw the whole bird or animal. Such a good effect from the Inktense pencils.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the duck, Joan. Birds are interesting to draw.
ReplyDeleteLovely looking duck Joan!
