We could not spend Easter with the grand kids this year but their Mom sent some really cute photos. After the morning egg hunt they went to a play park. I loved this photo of Mom and the kids sliding down a sort of strange looking slide but it looks like fun.
I tried a quick sketch like so many of the great ink drawings I have seen other artists on this site do, but quick sketching is not my forte. Also all that strange architecture was difficult to navigate not knowing how it was
really constructed.
Anyway, this is what some people do!
Your fantastic. What do you mean sketching is not your fortea.
ReplyDeleteThanks you. I had to do a lot of white out work.
DeleteAbsolutely adorable painting!!!! Sorry you had to miss the kids over the holiday. But glad you got photos to enjoy and draw from. This is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynn.
DeleteLooks really good to me. Sometimes photos are difficult to work out, but you got the essence of the fun here Fran...well done :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you very much.
DeleteThis came out really great! You captured the action and the fun!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun, Fran! I think you did the ink drawing great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement.
DeleteI love it Fran, you have conveyed a real sense of action and fun. Looks to me like you got the slide shape right!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I was afraid my lines to show sides and surfaces might be confusing.
Deletebut this look quick sketch Fran and how wonderful and playful too! You are good at capturing the fun of the kids :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, but I could not get those open mouth screaming faces just right.
DeleteI don't know how you can believe that quick sketching is not your forte. This is fantastic and it has all the liveliness that a quick sketch gives and the feeling of a fun time. I thought your line work showed the shape and direction of solid items really well. I'd love to see more of your quick sketches.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jez!
