"Man Waiting for News at Hospital", Humans and Their Activities, Lynn Cohen

Another of my eight pages I drew at the hospital day before yesterday waiting for my husband to have surgery. This guy was waiting too. The people made such good models for me. Only moving a little bit now and then. I draw fast. You can see other drawings showing through these pages. I won't buy this book again. But I like the slick pages to draw on.
Just used a Copic pen, black, 03.

I've posted all eight of the drawings I did that day on my blog Getting My Feet Wet. You can come visit there and see them if you are so inclined.

  1. These all are amazing. I like everyone you have done Lynn. So nice when you can just go ahead in public and do that

One day I hope to do that in public . Time will tell. They say I read for starters that is the way to do it. I did that with my boat. I call it

chicken scratch. It is a relaxer. I was not in public like you. So thumbs up. For all you have done. Wow!

  2. Yes, one must just jump in and draw (in public). I started outdoors and then since it was winter moved indoors, coffee shops, restaurants, Mexican restaurant near my office specifically. I wrote a book about it. See on the side bar of my other blog: One Fish Taco and Half An Order of Guacamole A Year of Drawing Over Lunch at Tacos Jalisco. Blog link is: http://lynn-nonameblog.blogspot.com. It's on the side bar. You can click on the photo of the book cover and see inside the books first 11 pages I think. Enjoy.

  3. Another great sketch of the endless supply of people posing at the hospital! Glad you kept busy!! I'm sure it helped to keep occupied while you waited.

    1. Thanks Joan, these were all done quite quickly and yes it kept me busy and my mind off any worries I may have had. It's such a waste of energy to worry before you know there is anything to worry about.

    1. He did have a large nose and a huge head of curly hair too. The art journal is a small one I got at Michael's for $3.99 by Fabriano. It has very slick pages which I like, but in bleeds through to the page behind.
