Art Supplies "Wishy Washi" by Elisa Choi

I set up washi tapes for a still life painting. I actually bought three and been using them as embellishment for postcards and letters. Have you tried using them? :)

PS* I am very touched by all your posts for human beings and their activities. The stories captivate me. Thank you for sharing and inspiring!

  1. Nice sketches of these! I have no idea what washi tape is. I've used washi paper but this looks more like rolls of tape. How is it used?

  3. You have chosen nice colourful patterns on you washi tape. No, I've never used them, though I've seen them on other people's work. I've played about with sticking a short length sellotape on a magazine page or newspaper and pulling it off, which has worked, but then I've never used the pieces.
Nice sketch, and I like the way you have painted the shadows.

  4. I love how you've done these! I'd love to see what you do with them, too - I've seen them at the store but I don't know how to use them. I'm intrigued!

  5. I have a thing about shadows and love yours here. My use of these wonderful tapes was in using them to frame a couple of art journals I made for my twin grand children. They are fun to use. And there are so many patterns. My 9 yr old grand daughter has a box full of them and she uses them to make things like wallets and book marks, etc.

  8. Thanks everyone! Washi tapes are decorative tapes and they come in many designs. And how you use them is endless! You can use them to tape the corners of your postcard to look like painted stripes. Sometimes I tear the tapes to decorate a bookmark. Some people use them to create jewelries by sticking it onto something like a pendant. And like Lynn shares you can decorate it on your frame etc. Just google washi tape projects and you will see a bunch of ideas already. :)
