"Saturday Morning", Garden's & Parks, by LynnCohen

It's sprinkling here. Not really raining. So I opened the sliding glass door again and sat inside drawing the chair and table outside on my patio. I had full intention of painting this, but I rather like it just in ink. I may leave it alone.

Next Friday, April 4, I start
Sketchbook Skool.
First class taught for one week on line by Danny Gregory.
Then followed for five more weeks each taught by another awesome, much admired artist.
I'm excited to see what it will mean for my drawing.
How it might change it, me, my life?

If you are interested one can still sign up.
I think its quite reasonably priced for the exposure to so many good artists in
this period of time.

[do notice the line of links at the top of this link when opened,
as it is explained in depth including videos about each teacher and class]

Have a creative day!

  1. Lynn, you have drawn such a lovely outlook through your open door! You have been missing rain, is it better now?

    1. Thanks Sirkka. A little better, but maybe at 80%. Another low rain year would be very bad.

  4. You did a great sketch of the patio furniture and plants through the door. It looks good in just ink. You have a bit of a sprinkle, but we have rain. I guess we need it so I won't complain, although it did keep me from going into the city to meet the NYC Urban Sketchers.

    1. Thanks Joan. Hard to believe a little rain would keep you from urban sketching! You need to teach them "Car sketching!"

  6. That class sounds like fun! Keep us posted, please, and share your drawings! I love to take classes both online and in person. I have taken a watercolor class at our senior center for a couple of years now and it is always fun, and I learn so much. The detail on your drawing above is so intricate. I am afraid I don't have the patience to do that, but I love to see others do it. I don't think it needs color either.

    1. I'll keep you posted on the class and post the art on my personal blog, unless of course I can stick to our themes there!
I love detail. When I started this this morning I realized this was not going to be one of my more quickly drawn pictures. So I just relaxed and enjoyed the journey!

  7. You've put a lot of detail in your sketch. Lots of woke and it's perfect in b/w. Have a great week ahead.

  8. I love seeing these plants again (I think they are the ones from before?)! And with the chair, so amazingly done! I feel like sitting down with those plants!
