Gardens and Parks, Weeds by Elisa Choi

I've been sick these days but I feel a lot better today. I went out and spotted these weeds in abundance. They seem to thrive on the ground's dirt. I painted this from memory.. Hope you're all good.

  2. I am sorry you have been sick, and hope you are feeling better now. I like your painting, weeds are plants that grow where someone does n't want them to, but the have their own beauty, and often flowers to rival garden favourites.

  4. Welcome back Elisa!!! Love this! I'm always impressed by artists who can draw with paint directly ! So pretty, airy, as though these leaves are flying in the wind! I'm a big fan of "weeds", as they just add more beauty to my English-like garden! Do stay well!

    1. Thank you much Lynn! Painting directly with paint is liberating and you should try it! My parents are a fan of weeds too as we have a bed of them that looks like grass already!

  5. Who decides which plants are weeds and which are flowers? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? That's why my daughter doesn't have me weeding the garden. I cannot tell the difference.

    1. hahah i like that Penny. but i think weeds are those that you didn't plant and they seem to grow too much and might be competing with your plants for nutrients. but i agree some weeds are beautiful :)

  6. Great memory painting of these interesting leaves. Someone told me once that anything could be called a weed if it is growing where you don't want it to grow. Likewise, if a weed looks good, so much the better.
