I ran out of interesting things to draw in my own garden so I asked Cris if I could draw in hers. (I've been given permission to use her photos to draw from). I've been there on numerous occasions and its a much more lively garden than mine. We do have our cat, Henry V, but she has her dog Annie, her cat Daisy, and innumerable chickens now that liven up the place.
So I drew that first one, I think it's "Lexy", in ink, and left it that way.
And today I quickly drew and painted this bucolic scene below. Cris can tell us which chickens these are. They are all fondly named and loved.

This is our second to the last day drawing to the theme: Garden's & Parks. I love all the colorful art it has garnered. In two days we go to our THIRD theme since starting the blog two short months ago.Check the bottom of the side bar to see how many views we've gotten thus far. Amazing! And we have over 30 artists signed up to draw here!
Our next THEME, our Fourth, starts on APRIL 1. It is Vacations & Holidays (holidays being the UK way of saying vacations in the USA). These can be drawings you did on site; from your travel photos, or from any NON-COPYRIGHTED photo of a vacation place you went to or would love to go to someday. I've added a link on the side bar and here for such non-copyrighted photos) Or anything out of the box around that theme that comes to mind. (Your suitcase, your favorite travel clothes, a favorite souvenir. You get the idea!) Have fun and Bon Voyage! Two more days in Garden's & Parks, then off to who knows where
"On Holiday/Vacation"!
Great sketches of Cris's chickens!!! They are so cute and colorful. Nice that they sat so well-behaved on the bench for you. lol
ReplyDeleteYes, Cris has them so well trained. They sit on her lap, head, shoulder and eat out of her hand. So they sat still for me too. Glad you enjoyed them Joan. ;-)
DeleteLovely chicken scratching, lol. I hope you are going to paint the big one in color. I am glad you explained the vacation theme. Now I think maybe I can come up with something! Hmmmm . . . suitcases sound interesting. My daughter collects them.
ReplyDeleteWell, I hadn't decided, but it you WANT me too I can be persuaded. (to paint the ink chicken). Glad I made the "Vacation" theme understandable. We are always allowed to "think outside the box". It makes things more interesting and gives us each more variety don't you agree?
DeleteI recognised the bench....great drawing Lynn. I bet Cris is really thrilled to see her chicks here :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann. Yes, she said she loved it see below! ;-)
Delete:))) LOVE these. My girls are well trained as models. Lol lets see. The all ink one is Lexy and the others are Alice on top of bench she loves to sit up there and Hattie the other barred rock and probably Lexy sitting on the arm. She tends to lay there. They all have their favorite perches. :)) nicely done. Glad I got some thing here since I have been kind of out of action during this theme.
ReplyDeleteThanks again Cris for giving me permission to draw in your garden (from YOUR photos). I dare say I probably have some of my own I took there, didn't think to look for those. But just glad you like the pictures so much! See you on vacation starting tomorrow. I wonder where your imagination will take you and us.
DeleteA very charming sketch and scene for the end of the fabulous Gardens and Parks challenge. It's been fun and I am already planning my vacation posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran. And I can't wait to see where you will be going on vacation!
DeleteHee hee! Love these cute chickens!
ReplyDeleteGlad they tickled your fancy, Margaret!
