My Comfortable Place to Sit "Close to Home" Lynn Cohen
This is my comfort zone! Sitting on my soft leather Lazy Boy Recliner, with one of the first ever quilts I made in 2007. My iPad leaning up against one arm of the chair. Ready to check out what others have drawn for this wonderful blog. You can see my books piled high on the end table beside the chair (well beside the love seat mentioned earlier) but in reach of my recliner too. Is my husband the only husband who puts a hat on a lamp? And that over sized rocker behind me is where he sits to play his guitar now. He took the arms off it after finding it at a consignment shop. Perfect for music making. And I curl up in my comfy chair to listen to him or watch TV. Believe it or not I sat braced on the love seat to draw this. Luckily I did not slide off. But it was touch and go there for a bit.
(I did BTW buy this chair at the same store previously to buying that awful love seat! But this was a GOOD deal, a floor model! And I sat on a lot of recliners there before I chose this one! ;-)
[If you are new here today scroll down to my previous story about the love seat for better understanding of this story]
While I was at it I quickly drew my husband in his chair which is next to mine. He picked out this chair himself. It was the wood of this chair that led to the purchase of the love seat and tables. It matches. This does not look much like him, but you get the flavor of him watching football on TV.

Thanks Giggles!!
DeleteWonderful, love them both! The fuzzy green of your chair! And fun to see the DH. In his very comfy-looking chair.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret, I'm not sure how it looks but both chairs are leather! ;-) maybe the color looks fuzzy?
DeleteOh yes! I think I'm just seeing a fuzzy green velour for some reason. Maybe I know a chair like that?
Delete;-)))))
DeleteLove seeing your cosy spots all of which have one of your wonderful quilts stretched over them. Love the sketch of the chair and the one of your hubby too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan, yes this home is full of fabric art!
DeleteI love your perfect little reading spot and seeing your hubby. I've never seen the hat on a lamp thing. Is it to cut down the glare? My dad refused to install overhead lighting in their living room (he built the house) because of the glare and if anyone puts a the light on over the dining table he grumbles and puts on a cap. I like as much light as I can get!
ReplyDeleteNo, Melisa, it has nothing to do with glare. Just his idea of decor I guess, now I know what I must draw next!
DeleteFunny but I thought the chair was fuzzy too. Meaning cloth. :)) a nice cozy spot to sit.
DeleteYour favourite chair looks so inviting! I love your bright colors!
