This scene was done while traveling through Smoky Mountains National Park.
I pulled off to the side of the road and did this quick painting in my Moleskine watercolor sketchbook.
Painted with casein paint. About 5x7

Rob, wonderful colors in your painting. And so beautifully drawn wall with trees and various plants.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Love the colors across the path denoting sun and shadow. Wonderful. I've traveled all but the southern most states in the US. And not Alaska. Must get this in.
ReplyDeleteAww, this is beautiful, I absolutely Love the colours :-)
ReplyDeleteRob, this is really beautiful...great colors in the trees and foliage and the shadows too. I've passed that way a few times and the car seems to want to go in that direction, but I'm always headed somewhere else. LOL You make me wish I had stopped there.
ReplyDeleteLove your painting. Beautiful colors and the softness of it all makes one want to jump right into the painting and go for a stroll. Great job.
ReplyDeleteOh my, that this was done as a roadside quick sketch is fantastic. It is beautiful and I would have imagined that it took hours. I fell in love with that forested area also last summer.
ReplyDeleteRob, these colors and the way they shimmer and interact is breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteOh this is very striking. I like this and what a beautiful job Rob.
