One of my most memorable vacations recently, September 2012 we drove from California across country to South Dakota to see many sights along the way, but to specifically be in South Dakota for the annual buffalo round up. We got up at 4 a.m. to drive in the dark, through Custer State Park, watching the sun rise in brilliant colors arriving at a site in the park where we sat and waited for hours until we finally saw cowboys on horseback herding over 1000 buffalo from throughout the park into a huge pen where they would be inoculated, checked out and then some would be auctioned off, some returned to the wilderness of the park for another year. Seeing these huge animals running across the prairies of the park was a magnificent sight to behold, simply breathtakingly beautiful. I drew this from one of my many photos from that trip.

I used dip pens in Noodles Golden Brown and Black ink. I am new to these Speedball nib pens and can see they will take some practice and time getting used to. I used a bit of pink Micron pen on his tongue which is licking inside his nose! And some Copic multiliner black ink.
