I just realised this kind of fits the previous theme of "motion" as well! Every Saturday morning the park fills up with families and young women who are playing hockey or netball. These are my scribbly motion captures of my daughter's team warming up and playing. Interestingly, at the end of the game, this team stands in a circle and does "3 cheers for..." and rattles their hockey sticks together, but I saw other teams do something completely different where they link hands and sidestep in a circle around the goalie (who is lumbered up with gear and thus less mobile) while chanting team cries.

Nice sketches,Elaine.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jean - I'm happy how they turned out considering how quickly everyone was moving around. :)
DeleteLovely sketches of the event. It's nice to see and read about life near your home.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann, having grown up in the US, hockey was not something I knew about before my kids started playing, so I feel a bit like a field anthropologist sometimes...
DeleteDelightful story telling here! Love the light colors an excitement of the day in your drawing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynn! My favorite part on the page is the dog. Everyone seems to bring a dog along...
