Doing Things Differently, Lynn Cohen

This theme was my idea, so I think it's okay if I tweak it a bit, bend my own rules. I often draw in ink and use watercolors as I did here, but I rarely draw STANDING UP! And that is what I did when I came upon this last group getting ready to join a parade in my town last weekend. Mexican musicians making loud music on drums and a tuba; one cowboy on a horse twirling a rope lasso, and others sitting astride their horses waiting to march. There was no where to sit, so I stood and quickly drew the sombreros, horses and cowboys and instruments. I'm surprised it came out as well as it did all considered.

  1. You chose a great subject, the parade was a perfect opportunity to draw. Love these pages Lynn, they show how busy and colourful it all was.

    1. Oh my! I could never do this all of the time, but was glad I had the experience. I once stood and drew a castle front behind a gate in Germany.
