Here is one place I have always regretted not seeing before I moved away from the U.S., Mount Rushmore. The drawing is based on a photo I picked from Wikipedia; the photographer placed his photo in Creative Commons. I did the drawing with a Pilot Croquis -- I've replaced the "B" lead with a "6B" instead and was keen to try it out. A bit difficult to be precise enough to be accurate with the thick shape, but I like the way it feels and I think it will be great to use for life drawing.

Excellent drawing Elaine :-)
ReplyDeleteHow brave to take this monument on, and how superbly you executed it! I've visited there many times. Loved seeing large, furry white mountain goats climbing near by one year!
ReplyDeleteI like how you simplified this to mostly line and a little shading. Lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so good! I hope mine just make people giggle!
