"Sable African Antelope", Animal Theme, Lynn Cohen

This was actually the first drawing I did at the Academy of Sciences museum in San Francisco last Saturday. It was a diorama of Sable Antelope from Africa. I drew in Copic multiliner black pen 0.3. And I colored it in using both Copic markers and Tom Bow brush pens. It was quite a challenge drawing around the tourists coming thorough the museum and posing for photos in front of the displays. But in time they went on through and I had some alone time with the antelope.

    1. Thank you Lisa. Yes it was a fun experience to draw there. An idea I was given at Sketchbook Skool. The six week class I took from six different amazing teachers. Ends tomorrow, but I am signed up for the next semester starting in July. This first semester is to be repeated if anyone is interested.

    1. I like that word too Ann! Has a certain ring to it doesn't it? Yes, I was in African Hall, but after sitting for a while I could have been in the wild.

    1. I am loving it Joan. I enjoy my brush pens like never before, and the colored pencils too, although I have not yet mastered how they are really to be used. I will keep going with these classes. They are so much fun and the group of artists are amazing to watch. (students as well as the teachers!)

    1. Thank you Jez! I did take my time there. Another artist friend did many more in the same time frame, but I sat longer at my three stations I chose to draw. It was a fun time.
