Animals, Duck, Ann Hyde

A quick sketch of a duck
just added the blue to indicate the shadow side

Why is it that the quick sketches turn out okay,
the ones I labour over turn out so wrong!!!  lol

  1. He's a sweet duck, Ann. And your shadows look perfect to me. BTW another thing I learned in SBS is that there are no mistakes in art, that one should push on and the so called "mistakes" will turn into something very doable in the end. With that kind of attitude we can't help but succeed!

  4. Shadowing is something I need to learn about as well. This is a great job Ann. I once had a duck that looked just like this one.:)

  5. Wonderful job on him, Ann!! It is funny that sometimes a quick sketch works so well and when we sweat over something it just doesn't.

  8. I think he's a perfect duck Anne, waddling along like that, to living. Quick sketches where the re is no time to think and criticise are always so much more lively like this one. Like the shadow.
