Since I had this sketched for today I am posting my second sketch of the day. In 1977 I took my first trip to Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida with a few friends on spring break. I love all the Disney characters, and enjoyed going on all the rides. This was sketched from a photo I had taken at the parade they held in the evening. I think the costumes have improved since this little dwarf walked in the parade. In my photo it looks like his beard is made of plastic. lol

How cute this is with all the people in the background.
ReplyDeleteIt is surely interesting to see all the disney figures there. Nice work. Much people looking!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun memory! I love your small crowd of people too!
ReplyDeleteAww, this is great Joan...as I scrolled down I never expected to see such a lovely character :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the loose sketching here, and the building and crowd are so well done. I wonder if he is 'Happy', though he looks a little 'Doubtful' at the moment your photo was taken. Makes me remember seeing Snow White at the cinema, on its first release, it must have been about 1940-ish when I was about 5. I was so frightened of that wicked Queen!
ReplyDeleteThat wicked Queen was a very scary character. She scared me too!
DeleteThanks Fran, Sirkka, Lynn, Ann, and Jez! He was walking with the other dwarfs but I could never tell them apart, except for Sneezy and Bashful. lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a great drawing Joan. Disneyland is huge and costly.:) but fun.
ReplyDeleteIt is expensive but fun. I went to Disneyland in CA several times with my sister and her boys when they were young. It is always more fun with kids. lol
DeleteHee hee, Joan, this dwarf is so real! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margaret. I always liked the dwarfs.
DeleteI loved Disneyland also. Nice job so real looking he is.
