Time Away From Home, Disneyworld by Joan Tavolott

Since I had this sketched for today I am posting my second sketch of the day. In 1977 I took my first trip to Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida with a few friends on spring break. I love all the Disney characters, and enjoyed going on all the rides. This was sketched from a photo I had taken at the parade they held in the evening. I think the costumes have improved since this little dwarf walked in the parade. In my photo it looks like his beard is made of plastic. lol

  5. I love the loose sketching here, and the building and crowd are so well done. I wonder if he is 'Happy', though he looks a little 'Doubtful' at the moment your photo was taken. Makes me remember seeing Snow White at the cinema, on its first release, it must have been about 1940-ish when I was about 5. I was so frightened of that wicked Queen!

    1. It is expensive but fun. I went to Disneyland in CA several times with my sister and her boys when they were young. It is always more fun with kids. lol
