When we were in the city the other day it warmed up a bit in the afternoon and we were able to sketch outside in the park, as long as we were sitting in the sun. I liked the view with this lady reading despite the cool weather and the view behind her. It was too windy for the umbrellas to be opened. LOL It looked so spring like.

Joan, I can see in your sketch that it is spring and cold! Beautiful sketch:)
ReplyDeleteBrrr! I feel the chill in the air.
ReplyDeleteI love this scene too, and how you've captured her huddled but calm demeanor.
ReplyDeleteLove this painting of the lady reading.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, she is so warmly bundled up and yet spring has sprung behind her in all those beautiful blooming flowers. So pretty, Joan. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sirkka, Penn, Margaret, Ann, and Lynn. It was a brisk spring day so I can understand her being bundled up. I had on a heavy turtleneck sweater, my winter jacket, and a scarf. I was comfy enough that I didn't need my hat or my fingerless gloves. I guess that means it must be spring. LOL
ReplyDeleteLovely sketch, that rich pink blossom, great combination of landscape and the lady snuggled in her warm coat.
ReplyDeleteLovely watercolor sketch. That tree is gorgeous.
