The other day I was riding home from Sayville and saw this lady raking the leaves in her front hard. You know I had to stop and sketch her. LOL I turned the car around and parked across the street from her. She never even realized someone was watching her.

How could you resist, especially with this as our theme? I love all the textures and the range of colors in your sketch!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Margaret. Since I have no yard to do work in I had to sketch her. lol
DeleteJoan, you crack me up! I'm going to call you the stalker artist! Careful, you might be arrested! This painting is delightful. So full of life!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Lynn, that may happen at some time. When I was out with several friends sketching one night some lady called the community watch to check on why there were so many cars parked along the water where we were sketching. We didn't realize we were technically not on public property. LOL
DeleteGreat sketch, Joan! You did exact the right thing when you stopped and sketched her! I can see tha she is enjoying her job and concentrated in it. Fine, that found this!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I've passed up scenes and then regretted it all day long. So now I know I should stop.
DeleteI love all the verticals in this, and the warm colours. Good to be able to get out again and see life going on like this.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jez!!
DeleteLove this and how you captured your subject. I wonder what this lady would have said if she had known you were sketching her, lol. Joan, just thought, you could become the Sketchbook Stalker! Love it, I have this vision of you travelling your area with your sketchbook and people spotting you and phoning all their friends saying "watch out Joan's about".
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann! I may get famous that way.
DeleteWhat a great little scene this is! You are very good at stealthy sketching. :)
ReplyDeleteI can be very sneaky. Thanks.
DeleteJust popped in to see what you all have been up too. Some fabulous sketches by all. Love this one Joan especially as you managed to capture her on the quiet. You would have good detective skills perhaps. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Laura. Some day someone will notice what I'm doing, but for now there isn't a problem.
DeleteWhat a great sketch Joan. Great job of what someone is doing at that very moment.
