Parks & Gardens, Jez Eden

When I looked out of the french doors this morning to look at the garden, I noticed that the big old tree just outside had kindly dropped a large pine cone just outside the door.  Just the thing for my first Parks and Gardens post, though I always find them very complicated to draw.

  1. Thank you Ann. Pine cones take such a lot of concentration. To keep my 'place' on the cone as I drew it, I carefully stuck a tiny adhesive circle very lightly on the last one drawn. This helped better than when I've drawn them before.

  2. Pine cones make such great subjects to paint with all their texture and odd shapes. This is lovely! Sounds like you had a good plan to not get lost in the pieces of the pinecone.

  3. I agree they are great subjects, and the squirrels love them and come to the garden, so I get double value from them.
