Last spring I visited the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens when the cherry blossoms were in bloom. I painted those while I was there, but took a few photos of the magnolia blossoms for future paintings.
Since it really doesn't feel like spring here in NY and nothing is in bloom, I decided to get into the spring spirit by painting this from a photo. Penny inspired me with the ATC sized pieces she has been doing, so I did a mini magnolia.
its beautiful, no spring here either!
ReplyDeleteThanks. At least we didn't get the snow they predicted.
DeleteI love it! And no one would know it is only 2.5 x 3.5 inches small!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Penny. You can get a lot in those tiny cards. I should do more of them.
DeleteReally pretty, Joan! Magnolias are the state flower of my home state, MS. They always make me think of my mother-in-law, who loved them.
ReplyDeleteThey always make me think of warmth and hospitality. Thanks.
DeleteBeautiful card. I've got to try ATC
ReplyDeleteTry it! They are fun to do. Thanks so much.
DeleteLove this flower that grows in my daughters front patio on a huge tree! Love your miniature magnolia that looks huge as it fills this small space! Love those blue shadows!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I love when you see the big trees so full of these blossoms.
DeleteBeautiful painting Joan :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann!
